Work of Hart Studio and Gallery: Here We Go.......

Work of Hart Studio and Gallery: Here We Go.......

Here We Go.......

WHAT AN HONOR!!!!

A couple of months ago, a representative of Ampersand contacted me on behalf of Dick Blick Art Materials.  It seems that Dick Blick had seen my cold wax and oil piece, "Lilly Pond," on the Ampersand site and wanted to feature it in their Christmas catalog.  I, of course, said a resounding yes and promptly forgot about it.  Today, I was leafing through the new Blick catalog and low and behold......drumroll, choir of angels, trumpet sounds, there it is.  I'm so honored.  Here is the page, front of Blick catalog, and my original piece.  They mentioned my website workofhart.net.  Thank you Ampersand  and Dick Blick.  Also, thanks to the wonderful owners of hangitupgalleryandstudios.com , who promote and sell my work.

Some more ASCP and Wood Icing.

I can't get enough of Annie's paint (see prior post).  This is a piece I did with Wood Icing woodicing.com .  Wood Icing is just awesome.  This was done through a stencil and then painted with acrylic paints in my "patented!!!!!!" three-step process.  The frame is Annie Sloan Chalk Paint "Arles," a beautiful buttery yellow, with clear wax and dark wax finish.  A great combination.....You can see this at hangitupgalleryandstudios.com .  See more wood icing work at heatherhaymart.com .

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint........just awesome!!!!!

I've worked in cold wax and oil for the past year and really love it.  I just discovered (new to me, aparently) the line of chalk paint by Annie Sloan (world renowned furniture painter).  Annie is British and has developed this line of paint......no stripping, no priming, no much of nothing!!!!!  Well, the finish is wax so I had to try it.  Here is my first piece.  A lovely little chair found at a local second-hand store.....I used Annie's Paris Grey and Paloma on the chair.  It was already covered (how nice is that).  I finished with a clear coat of wax and some dark wax to distress.  Two hours tops and I was done.  A lovely hard finish of matte wax.....very close to my cold wax and oil paintings.   This chair can be seen in person at Hang It UP Gallery hangitupgalleryandstudios.com in Hartwell, Ga.  As always my art can be seen at workofhart.net and on my blog at workofhartstudioandgallery.blogspot.com
