NEW SURFACES/NEW IDEAS

I've been turned on to a new surface for cold wax and oil by Rebecca Crowell (internationally known cold wax and oil artist).  This surface is paper with a resin coating.  Rebecca is using this for art work that will be shown in Dublin, Ireland (how cool is that?).  I've ordered several small pieces and hopefully will have time to demonstrate this at Art Talk in Seneca, SC at The Artists Loft on 9/24/11 from 11-1.  Even though Claybord is an awesome surface to work on, it gets cumbersome trying to move around.  We'll see how it goes.  Here's a link to Rebecca's work:  rebeccacrowell.blogspot.com and rebeccacrowell.com.  You can also see her work on Facebook.

The Artists Loft, Seneca, SC

I'm a member of this wonderful co-op in Seneca, SC.  It is located downtown right off historic Ram Cat Alley.  On September 24th, Saturday, from 11-1, I'll be doing Art Talk on my cold wax and oil process.  Knowing I'll be in conflict with Hartwell's Fall Festival, come to Seneca and then you'll still have time to browse Hartwell and visit Hang It Up Gallery's Woodworking Show.  Lots to do that day.theartistsloftsc.com and hangitupgalleryandstudio.com.
